Casa Vacanze Il Chiostro holiday apartments

The apartments in Casa Vacanze Il Chiostro are the ideal place to experience the culture and traditions of real Tuscany. The apartments are located in the converted and restored 12th century Franciscan Monastery right in the centre of the quiet and picturesque hilltop village of Suvereto surrounded by green hills, vineyards and olive groves. The village has a well-preserved medieval centre which has retained its authenticity and naturalness.

All apartments have been recently restored to a very high standard maintaining the unique Tuscan style.

The smallest apartments are ideal for two, whilst the biggest can sleep up to 6 people. All have air-conditioning – a must during hot Tuscan summers, fully equipped kitchens (with microwaves and dishwashers), sat-TV, phones, chestnut beams, Tuscan cotto floors, thick stone walls.   A peaceful Communal garden accessed from the Cloister is available for guests’ use in which they can relax, and enjoy a drink or have a snack.  Open throughout the year so ideal for a winter break.

Recharge your batteries in the relaxing town of Suvereto and our comfortable apartments.

The area has plenty of attractions to offer the visitor, namely: the architecture and history of numerous nearby small towns, folklore, wonderful beaches, archaeological sites, museums, regional cuisine and untouched nature.   The village offers all necessary facilities including banks, post office, pharmacy, food stores, bars, ice-cream shops together with a large selections of great restaurants - meaning you never need to drive in the evening.

Everything is two minute’s walk away from the Cloister. The closeness of the sea has made Suvereto attractive during spring and summer while in late autumn and winter it becomes a wonderful place for combining cultural experiences with the charm of the Tuscan way of life.  A strategic home base for fascinating day trips.

The welcoming apartments can be accessed from the Monastery cloister or from the adjoining part of the Monastery where the Monks once slept.   Founded in 1286 the Monastery did not survive the suppressions of the Napoleonic period and was definitively closed in the early 19th century by Elisa Bonaparte. The cloister can still be seen today as an architectural wonder. Square in plan, on each side there is a colonnade formed by five arches supported on pilasters. A cistern was originally to be found in the centre of the cloister, hence its address Piazza Della Cisterna.

If it's swimming and sunbathing you're after, 7 kilometres away in the town of Venturina are the Calidario thermal spas that date back to Etruscan and Roman times.  Swim in 36° degree water in the thermal lake - and sunbathe in the surrounding grounds. Take advantage of the reasonably priced health treatments for psycho and physical well-being (aryuveda, shiatsu, reflexology).
