In southern Tuscany sweetly situated between the sea and hills (just 1 hour to Pisa airport and 20 mins from great beaches ) lies the enchanting medieval village of Suvereto surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. The 12th Century Franciscan Monastery has been artfully transformed and renovated into the "Casa vacanze "Il Chiostro". Various types of top-quality apartments available throughout the year - all with air-conditioning and offering you the warmth of typical tuscan houses.

Suvereto has been awarded the "bandiera arancione" by the Italian Touring Club  a synonym of quality tourism and accommodation. Voted one of the most beautiful hilltop town in Italy.

The natural habitat of the Coast of the Etruscans offers protected areas  such as the Bolgheri Oasis, the Val di Cornia National Park and wonderful villages such as Castagneto Carducci, Campiglia Marittima, Bibbona.

Families with children will love the unspoilt and not yet touched by mass tourism seaside resorts such as San Vincenzo, Piombino, Follonica. Baratti Bay just 15 minutes away is a splendid unspoilt stretch of beach within a protected cove.  From there 5 minutes away is Popolunia where you can visit Etruscan tombs. At Piombino catch the ferry (one hour) and spend a day on the unspoilt island of Elba. For those more adventurous visit Capraia and Isola del Giglio.

Suvereto is strategically placed for daytrips to most parts of Tuscany such as Florence, Volterra, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano.

The entrance to the apartments is through the Monastery Cloister or its adjoining courtyard both set in a quiet traffic free square. All apartments have been superbly restored with original tuscan features. All decorated to a very high standard and equipped with new kitchens, diswashers, sat. tv, telephone etc.  Enjoy panoramic views from balconies and windows over the hills and countryside. Guests can use the communal gardens accessed through the cloister.

Enjoy authentic tuscan food (discounts offered to guests staying at the Monastery) at the numerous first-class restaurants in the square which is 1 minute's walk away. A sumptuous medieval banquet is served in the Cloister during mid-July during a local festival.
